Read Time:2 Minute, 6 Second

It’s only been the past several years that I’ve gotten started tracking the concerts I attend, and by “tracking” that just means they’re on my Google calendar so it’s easy to search and find all that I’ve attended. Here’s a list to this point of them going back the past few years.

If I were to think all the way back in time, I believe the first concert I ever went to was Amy Grant in Portland. In that general time period I also recall going to Cheap Trick, The Moody Blues, Robert Cray and others I know I’m forgetting. Yes, we saw Smash Mouth once in the early 2000’s. Get over it.

Anyway, here’s the recent list. I don’t list opening acts for the most part.

  • 2022
    • The Smile
    • Arcade Fire
    • Flaming Lips (more an experience than a concert. Was finding confetti for days…)
    • Dave Matthews Band (first show in Seattle in many years)
    • Yes
    • Death Cab for Cutie (Paramount Theatre)
    • The Legendary Pink Dots
    • Panchiko
    • Carbon Leaf
    • King Gizzard and the Lizzard Wizzard (yes, that’s a real band name)
    • Trey Anastasio Band
    • Roger Waters
    • Ween
    • Weird Al Yankovich (sorry Al, couldn’t stay awake)
    • Bare Naked Ladies/Gin Blossoms/Toad the Wet Sprocket
    • Ben Folds
    • Son Volt
    • Jack White
    • Belle & Sebastian
    • Car Seat Headrest (these guys opened for Death Cab a couple of years earlier and we had no idea who they were. Fast forward and they sold out the Paramount. First show for the lead singer after having Covid and they played their hearts out but then had to cancel the next few shows because he was so worn out)
    • Black Midi
    • John Mayer (totally under-rated as a guitar player)
  • 2021
    • The New Pornographers
    • Toad the Wet Sprocket
    • Foo Fighters/Death Cab for Cutie (I don’t rate show but if I did this would be on my top five list. It was the first show ever in the new Climate Pledge Arena, prior to the official opening, and also ended up being the last show Taylor Hawkins played in Seattle prior to his death. Say what you will about Dave Grohl but he is a master showman. Simply a great show.)
    • Hella Mega Tour (Green Day/Fall Out Boy/Weezer)
    • Counting Crows
    • Primus
  • 2020
    • The New Pornographers
  • 2019
    • The Who (2x – Once in Toronto and once in Seattle w/Sam)
    • Carbon Leaf
    • Vampire Weekend
    • Death Cab for Cutie
    • Weird Al Yankovic
  • 2017
    • Imagine Dragons (Sam’s first show although he will probably disavow it)
  • 2015
    • Muse
